I am the AgriScience teacher here at Walton-Verona High School. I attended Michigan State University where I majored in Agriculture Natural Resources Education Communication Systems with a minor in Biology. I received my Masters Degree from Northern Kentucky University in the Summer of 2008 in Educational Admimistration.
I teach the following courses:
Animal Science - A general animal science that covers animal anatonomy and phisilogy. We will cover both production farm animals and small animals.
Greenhouse Technology - A hands-on class that allows students to learn the essential items to grow plants and manage a production greenhouse. We grow and sell Ferns, Easter Lilies, Poinsettias, Kalanchoes, Christmas Cactus, Cyclamens, and all common spring bedding plants and hanging baskets.
Veterinary Technology - An Animal Science class that focuses on Anatomy and Physiology of small and large animals. This class also gives students the skills necessary to pursue a career in animal or human medicine.
Agriscience – A introductory Agriculture class that exposes students to agriculture and prepares them for a possible career in the #1 industry in America. Areas of focus will be learning in Agriculture, Agriculture Education, Animal Science, Plant Science, Natural Resources, Meat Science, Dairy Foods and FFA.
Murray State University - Student enroll in a dual credit course from Murray State University that covers animal science and a second course that covers agriculture issues and current events. Students will receive six credits from Murray State University and one high school credit from WVHS.
