Welcome to my web page!
I am teaching exceptional
education in the multiple handicap unit for students with moderate to severe disabilities. It is my goal to provide the best education that I can for all students in a fun, safe, and creative way. I am grateful for the opportunity to be teaching your child and am looking forward to a great school year.
Within the multiple handicap unit students will learn a variety of occupational, vocational, and life skills all tied into their core classes. A primary focus in the multiple handicap unit is to strive for a successful transition of all students from school to post-school activities - whether postsecondary education, vocational training, integrated employment, continuing and adult education, adult services, independent living or community participation. The focus is on teaching students the necessary skills to prepare them for such transitions through intensive classwork, community based instruction, and work experience programs.
I look forward to many exciting events this school year. You can use this website as a resource for your child and it serves as a place to get information concerning events within our classroom. Please feel free to contact me as our communication is vital to your child's success. You can either call or email me during the day. The best time to reach me by phone is between 9:30 and 10:45.
I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year!
